Assistant Prof. Tolga Çukur through the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Bilkent University is one of the recipients for this year’s Outstanding younger Scientist Award (TÜBA-GEBİP) by the Turkish Academy of Sciences.Çukur has gotten the award for his work in the industries of intellectual and computational neuroscience.

Dr. Çukur’s scientific studies on neuroscience, which he started at Stanford University and University of California, Berkeley, are actually continuing inside nationwide Magnetic Resonance Research Center (UMRAM) at Bilkent University. He develops book useful magnetized resonance imaging (fMRI), experimental psychology and computational modeling approaches for quantitative analysis of mind purpose in healthy topics and in customers. The main aim of this research is to generate detailed maps of mind regions tangled up in visual also physical processes, and determine the consequences of attention and learning on physical perception. Through this aim, he expects to spot computational markers and diagnostic measures for neurodegenerative and developmental diseases. The experimental practices developed by Dr. Çukur’s group have crucial ramifications for development of interventional procedures, as well as for design of book treatments and health products targeting physical deficits in disorders of the nervous system.
