Free Summer School in Turkey 2014

The Science Academy community (Bilim Akademisi Derneği) is an independent self-governing organization launched on November 25, 2011 in Istanbul, Turkey.

The Association, labeled from here on whilst the Science Academy, is a completely independent organization that aims to assemble Turkish experts, led because of the concepts of scientific merit, freedom and integrity.

The Science Academy aims to boost public awareness about problems pertaining to science methods, policies, knowledge and ethics by arranging and managing conferences, conferences and journals by professionals. Its primary objective should inform most people together with organizations in particular regarding the effect as well as the societal implications of scientific and scholarly study.

Foundation[edit]

The Science Academy Association was started if the Turkish Academy of Sciences (Türkiye Bilimler Akademisi, TÜBA) lost its independent status after executive decrees on August 27, 2011, and Nov. 3, 2011, which stipulated the session of TÜBA people by federal government agencies. The majority of the regular, honorary and associate people in TÜBA after that resigned regarding grounds that TÜBA had lost the caliber of becoming an independent academy of science. Seventeen of the resigned TÜBA members founded the Science Academy on November 25, 2011, joined shortly after by a lot of the various other resigned users. The Science Academy partcipates in the next activities:
